Director of Wellness and Social-Emotional Learning

Dr. Natosha Speight is a psychologist, clinical social worker/supervisor, DEI practitioner, and change agent with over 20 years of experience working with children, youth,

families, adults and communities. Her work experience spans numerous areas of mental health, psychological services, social services, and educational settings.

Dr. Speight received her Bachelor of Science degree in Biological Sciences, a Master of Social

Work degree, and a Ph.D. in School Psychology with an Urban Psychology Emphasis. Her key areas of interest and expertise are trauma; social and emotional learning; learning differences and behavioral challenges; diversity, equity, inclusion and belonging; community building; restorative practices; and self-care.



Dr. Speight joined The Lab School of Washington in the summer of 2022. She is responsible for co-leading and supporting the psychology and wellness efforts within the Lab School community, and will effectively collaborate with school wide educational entities to promote holistic well-being, and social-emotional growth and development.
